Carpenters and Joiners IN Sheffield
Carpenters and joiners are both trades that have been around for a long time, since before the times of modern manufacturing techniques. Yet their services today are still as relevant as in times gone by. At Newbould Developments, we offer the services of both carpenters and joiners who are time-served and qualified. But what is it that they do?
Firstly, joiners are the people who create fitted furniture such as cupboards for a kitchen or wardrobes for the bedroom. This involves a lot of intricate work as well as structural elements and often a combination of on-site and off-site work. Joiners are also required for jobs such as building a staircase and creating interior doors. This will involve fitting the doors into place, a service often referred to as ‘hanging’ a door.

Joiner or carpenter? We do it both.
In essence, a joiner is someone who makes the product while a carpenter is the person who installs it. The carpenter will also be the person who comes out if something is broken and needs fixing. But to our customers, the definition of who is needed isn’t something they need to worry about – simply tell us what the problem or project is and we will bring in the people with the right skills and qualifications to deal with it. This ease of service means you don’t need to spend time speaking to one person after another to find the right fit for the job – we will always have someone who is the perfect match after just one single phone call.
Carpenters work in similar areas but there are some differences. For example, a carpenter won’t make the kitchen cupboards but if you are buying ready-made ones, he or she will be the person to fit them. Similarly, they will install staircases and even window frames when they are made from wood. Finally, fitting wooden floors is another common job for a carpenter.
